Saudi Arabia & United Arab Emirates (SA & AE)

Date:

4 January 2018
Country:
Saudi Arabia
Reason for service alert:

Effective 1 January 2018, a value-added tax (VAT) of 5% will be applied to the total value of each individual item entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates to be paid by the consignee. This includes, without exception, all commodities being sent to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, regardless of their purpose.

It is therefore essential that each CN22/23 provide clear and precise details, including the name of the product and the total value under each item. This will help speed up Customs processing. Missing details may cause delays.
