Your focus, our success! This could be your opportunity! We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Control Officer to join our Finance team in Hong Kong. Reporting to the Credit Control and Contract Manager, you will oversee customer credit screening and the collections process, including monitoring overdue accounts, resolving billing/payment disputes and coordinating follow-up actions with Sales and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in maintaining strong cash flow and financial control.

Challenges

  • Conduct customer account setup and perform credit checks or credit risk screening
  • Monitor customer receivables and follow up on outstanding balances to drive timely payment
  • Handle invoice discrepancies and resolve invoice/payment disputes in coordination with internal teams
  • Ensure accurate invoice records and support timely issuance of statements as required
  • Enforce company credit policies and manage credit exposure in line with internal guidelines
  • Reconcile complex accounts and support month-end closing activities
  • Prepare overdue reports and support risk mitigation actions (e.g. escalation, payment plan follow-up)
  • Coordinate with Sales and other internal stakeholders to ensure payment collection progress
  • Maintain credit control documentation and records (e.g. correspondence, dispute documentation) as required
  • Conduct occasional customer visits together with Sales, including visits in mainland China when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in credit control/receivables management/account collections
  • Familiarity with credit risk assessment and basic contract/payment terms compliance (in an administration or follow-up capacity)

  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); SAP experience is a plus
  • Experience in dispute resolution and maintaining productive customer relationships
  • High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle escalations professionally
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong command of English and Mandarin; Chinese Word processing preferred
  • Willingness to travel to Mainland China (mainly Shenzhen) as required
