Spring GDS has upgraded from a Bronze to Silver EcoVadis sustainability certification
In 2026, our EcoVadis Sustainability Rating has been upgraded from Bronze to Silver. The Silver medal recognises our progress not just in how we manage our environmental and social impact, but how we measure, report, and communicate it.
EcoVadis is a globally recognised sustainability rating system for how organisations perform across supply chains. The assessment process evaluates the strength of a company’s management system to address sustainability criteria (find out more about the rating system and methodology here.)
Upgrading from Bronze to Silver places us among the top-performing companies in our industry, and offers insights on where we can improve.
Recognising measurable, transparent decarbonisation across the value chain
Spring GDS ranked highly for our performance across key sustainability areas. The EcoVadis assessment highlighted progress in carbon management, ethics, and sustainable procurement, recognising how our sustainability has matured from individual initiatives to a structured decarbonisation roadmap.
Existing initiatives such as our HVO100 ‘Out the Tank’ solution, which supports the use of renewable biofuel across Europe’s diesel network, were also commended for measurable progress in reducing emissions across the value chain. The launch of Customer Specific C02 reports that offer customers a tailored, detailed breakdown of their emissions supports our efforts towards greater data quality across our activities.
The importance of our Impact Report
Our first Impact Report emphasised the importance of transparency, measurability, and high quality data. Accurate, credible reporting and clarity of approach are essential for turning our sustainability goals into practical action.
Sustainability isn’t something we can achieve alone: results come from aligning our own strategy with the shared commitment across our industry to improve logistics for people and the planet. In the Impact Report, we brought all our existing sustainability strategy, action, and results in one place to support ongoing collaboration with our partners and customers.
This first reporting cycle supported our sustainability rating by putting our transparency values into practical action, and giving us a framework which we and our partners can use to hold ourselves accountable.
Next steps for the Spring GDS sustainability journey
As we celebrate this milestone for how we manage our environmental and social impact, we’re also implementing the insights on the areas where we can improve.
Having dedicated consistent time and effort to our decarbonisation strategy, we’re now adding focus to the social elements of sustainability action. We are strengthening our approach towards labour and human rights, and looking inward to reflect on how we can continue to support, invest in and develop the people behind the parcels.
Our key takeaway from the EcoVadis assessment is that while our reporting has greatly improved, more work on this will support all areas of our sustainability action. These insights have steered us even more strongly towards improving our data quality, and maintaining our commitment to transparency and measurability across our operations.
